A simple and stylish two door floor cabinet offering functional storage options. Perfect for the home office, bedroom, basement and even garage. It features shaped locking doors (lock included), 4 shelves (3 adjustable, 1 fixed) and the top shelf is full width and adjustable. Middle shelf is full width, fixed at 27-3/4-inch from bottom and has a centre support. It features 2 lower shelves; one on each side of the centre support are adjustable and the adjustable shelves can be adjusted to 5 different heights( 2-1/2-inch gap). It features plastic handles with a silver finish . The floor cabinet is fully finished inside. It is shown in Solid Black finish. It is also available in royal cherry, in chocolate and in morgan cherry. In addition, it has been designed to perfectly match any South Shore Furniture's item in Solid Black finish. Measures 35-inch wide by 19-inch deep by 60-inch high. The weight capacity for the adjustable shelves is 35 pounds and for the Middle fixed shelf is 100-pound. It is made of recycled CARB compliant particle panels. It has to be assembled by two adults. It is delivered in one box measuring 66-3/4-inch by 21-3/4-inch by 8-1/2-inch and weights 125 pounds. Tools are not included. 5-year warranty. Made in Mexico. Wipe clean with a dry cloth.

Assembly was a little more difficult than other furniture i have assembled due to similar looking but different types of screws, and an instruction manual with somewhat low detail pictures. The main problem is that the cabinet is made out of individual particle board peices that are held together by little pegs that are held in place with nothing other than friction. If you try pushing the assmebled product across the floor it will come apart as it doesnt even have a one piece base. The closest thing it has to stability is provided by the cardboard backing that is nailed on. Since it is totally unstable until the cardboard is nailed on, you must take care to make sure everything is level before nailing the cardboard in or the doors will be crooked. The finish is beautiful, exactly what I expected and matches my decor great. But a few of the pieces were damaged. Since I'm using this for storage in a tucked away place, it's not that big of a deal. But if it were going in my living or kitchen I would be dissapointed. My primarly complaint though is it is not nearly as large as it appears in the pic. I guess if I actually laid out the measurements before buying I wouldn't have been surprised. But the pic looks like a nice big office type storage cabinet. It is really more of a medium sized utility cabinet. But it will work okay for crafts and board games as I intend. Love the locking feature! But, it is much nicer looking than anything else I could find at a comparable price and it holds a lot of stuff. It has a flexible shelving system I needed that enables you to store items up to 27.5" tall on one side while also giving you two small adjustable shelves and one full-width adjustable shelf (check out the picture I uploaded). Please note that while the pictures can give the appearance that the cabinet is a dark solid chocolate brown color, it is actually a dark chocolate wood grain pattern. You can zoom in on the pictures to see this and decide if you like it. As far as the construction, it was fairly easy to put together and it is much more solid feeling than cheap storage cabinets I have purchased in the past. As a side note, mine also came with a touch up marker that works great. |
